Trust God And Leave The Results To Him
Trust God And Leave The Results To Him | September 9, 2023
An undisputed fact in Scripture that you will find is that God is faithful. Knowing this, you can trust Him with every detail of your life and leave the results of that situation, test, trial, temptation, game, or circumstance in His hands. Sure, we need to do our part and be responsible, which may include preparation, training, studying, and making healthy choices, but these actions should not be void or a replacement for seeking God and His approval. See, heaven takes notice as you work while praying and remaining committed to God.
In the Old Testament, we read about King Asa of Judah from the Southern Kingdom. He "did what was good and right in the eyes of the Lord his God" (2 Chronicles 14:2). However, later in his reign as king, Asa made some mistakes. King Baasha of Israel's Northern Kingdom sought to gain the upper hand on Asa by blocking a major route into Judah at Ramah. Baasha aimed to put economic and military pressure on Judah and force Asa into making significant concessions. Asa responded by forming a treaty with Syria that was militarily effective, but it did not have God's blessing. As a result, God sent his prophet, Hanani, to speak with King Asa about his error in judgment.
Second Chronicles 16:7-10 says, "At that time Hanani the seer came to King Asa and told him, 'Because you have put your trust in the king of Aram instead of in the Lord your God, you missed your chance to destroy the army of the king of Aram. 8 Don't you remember what happened to the Ethiopians and Libyans and their vast army, with all of their chariots and charioteers? At that time, you relied on the Lord, and he handed them over to you. 9 The eyes of the Lord search the whole earth in order to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him. What a fool you have been! From now on, you will be at war.' "
Notice first that we must remember prior examples of God's faithfulness. Next, we must choose the path God wants regardless of whether "we think" our course is better.
God is looking for people who will trust Him this way. If we do so, we can expect God's hand of blessing. If not, we will reap trouble like King Asa. Therefore, trust God and leave the results to Him!
