Years ago, a significant disease outbreak occurred in a small village in Africa. People were experiencing nausea and sickness, and after a couple of months, the situation became so severe that people started dying. The news reached the central city, and specialists were sent to identify the issue. After several days of testing, they discovered that the village water was contaminated. The village had been using water from a mountain stream.
The researchers started traveling upstream to locate the source of the problem. Despite searching for days, they saw nothing amiss. Upon reaching the stream's source, everything on the surface seemed fine. They then sent some divers down to get as close to the source as possible. To their surprise, the divers found a giant mother pig and all her piglets stuck at the source.
The pigs seemed to have met a tragic end, falling into the stream and lodged at its source. Their presence was turning the once pristine water into a deadly cocktail as it flowed past their lifeless bodies. Realizing the gravity of the situation, the officials of the discovery team swiftly removed the pigs. Miraculously, the water regained its purity, eventually becoming safe for consumption.
Think of your mind as the central hub for all your thoughts and the place where you process information. If your mind is compromised, you risk contaminating the rest of your thought pattern. Scripture talks about the realities of the mind being contaminated and its far-reaching effect. For example, Romans 8:5-7 says, "Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit. 6 So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace. 7 For the sinful nature is always hostile to God. It never did obey God's laws, and it never will."
Knowing this, be quick to remove the pigs that are compromising your mind. Prayerfully ask the Holy Spirit to search and renew your mind. If you are faithful in this area, you can expect the living water of Christ to nourish you and provide breakthroughs and blessings.
