Live By God's Power

Are your mental and emotional batteries drained? Do you physically feel like you're out of gas? Is your frustration level at a constant high? Before blaming others or trying to play WebMD, consider that you may be trying to live life outside God's power.
At first blush, that statement may seem ridiculous to some because they are faithful in religious activities such as prayer, church, and serving. Yet, while those are all crucial factors in the Christian faith walk and potential streams for the Spirit's power to flow, we must first be willing to surrender all to the Lord.
Psalm 62:11 says, "God has spoken plainly, and I have heard it many times: Power, O God, belongs to you."
Like this psalmist, you know the truth of the Scriptures. You understand what God requires of you. However, surrendering to the Lord is a whole other ballgame. A seasoned pastor once said, "The greatness of a man's power is the measure of his surrender."
As you surrender yourself to the Lord, an unmistakable strength will emerge. This new internal power will help you against any trouble or temptation nipping at your heels. All of this, of course, is connected to your desire to be submissive to the Lord. James 4:7 says, "So give yourselves humbly to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."
Remember, to live by God's power, you must surrender control to the Lord. Combine your spiritual duties with a heartfelt dependence, and then get ready to watch God move in your life.
With a heart of worship, consider carefully what First Chronicles 29:11 says:
"Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and you are exalted as head above all.”’
