God Blesses Those That Trust Him

God Blesses Those That Trust Him | May 22nd

The lion is one of the world's most ferocious and potentially dangerous predators. Male lions are particularly formidable, weighing between 360-520 pounds, measuring 5 to 8 feet in length, and capable of reaching up to 50 miles per hour, making them nearly impossible to overcome. Even world-renowned trainers, who are experts in interacting with lions within enclosures, have been mauled, and sadly, some have been killed by these indomitable animals. Thus, the story of Daniel surviving the lion's den is both amazing and awe-inspiring.

After some of Daniel's contemporaries manipulated the king into enacting and enforcing a bogus law, Daniel was sentenced to death by being thrown into the lion's den. It's safe to say that nobody ever escaped, let alone came out alive from the lion's den, until Daniel. God miraculously spared Daniel so much that he didn't even have a scratch on him or a whisker from the lion. As impressive as Daniel coming out unscathed from this ordeal with the lion is, the fact that God sent divine help and humbled everyone else in the process is even more noteworthy. Therefore, the rescue and release of Daniel is a reminder that God blesses those who choose to trust Him.

Daniel 6:23 reports, "Then the king was exceedingly glad and commanded that Daniel be taken up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no kind of harm was found on him, because he had trusted in his God."

King Darius was so relieved that Daniel was spared. We should remember that the Holy Spirit wants us to recognize that Daniel "trusted in his God," which was part of his deliverance. Likewise, you can trust God to bring you out of whatever lion's den you're in - whether that's temptation, a trial, or some internal trouble you're facing. God is great, and

He has the final say. If He wants to close the mouth of a few lions He created in the first place, He can do so with tremendous ease.

Knowing this, let us not lose hope and trust God no matter what we are facing because God is faithful. Jeremiah 17:7 declares, "Blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence."
