Jesus Healed Blindness
Jesus Healed Blindness
By definition, a miracle is an extraordinary occurrence where God intervenes in the natural laws of science that He created. Scripture records 35 plus miracles, but according to John, an eyewitness of the ministry of Christ, there were much more.
John 20:30 says, "Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book."
John 21:25 says, "Now there are also many other things that Jesus did. Were every one of them to be written, I suppose that the world itself could not contain the books that would be written."
The miracles we have on record, and no doubt the ones John says are "not written" down, include miracles of provision and over nature, miracles over demonic forces, miracles of transformation, miracles of resurrection, and miracles of healing. One of those examples of Jesus restoring a segment of health to a person's body was that of the man born blind (John 9:1-9.)
As wonderful as this miracle was, the Jewish leaders quickly opposed the work and the man who received sight (John 9:13-18.) Finally, however, the man states an undeniable fact concerning his miracle. John 9:32-33 says, "Ever since the world began, no one has been able to open the eyes of someone born blind. 33 If this man were not from God, he couldn't have done it."
Perhaps the man's response was tied to how Jesus healed him. Remember, Jesus used mud and spit and then wiped it on the man's eyes. In doing so, Jesus showed His power as the one and true Creator by pointing back to the original formation of humanity (Genesis 2:7.)
Sadly, these Jewish leaders didn't believe in the miracle-working power of Jesus because they were spiritually blind. John 9:39 provides Jesus' response to these people by saying, "I entered this world to render judgment—to give sight to the blind and to show those who think they see that they are blind."
You, too, can trust God to do the impossible. Just as His miracle of healing the man born blind demonstrated God's power, so is His provision for your needs.
