Go On A Walk With God

Go On A Walk With God | March 29, 2025
According to multiple medical reports, "going on a walk" has significant emotional, mental, relational, and physical benefits. Walking offers numerous advantages, including weight loss, increased endurance, enhanced immunity, and stress reduction. It helps clear the mind, improves cardiovascular health, and lowers the risk of chronic diseases. Additionally, walking contributes to muscle strength, boosts stamina, aids sleep recovery, and supports cognitive function. It also reduces the risk of depression and enhances overall mood.
Another blessing from walking is that your mind is more focused on connecting with God. You will find that some of your most productive times with God are on "prayer walks." When you’re walking, the phone is less of a distraction, along with the other untimely interruptions that seem to steal our attention away from the Lord. Also, you will find it easier to pray if you walk. I know this from my personal and professional experiences. See, when I meet with people, I typically suggest a walk at first. I do that because I notice they are more comfortable, relaxed, and willing to share instead of meeting over a desk in an office. I am confident you will find the same true as you go for a walk and talk with the Lord.
Keep in mind that Scripture offers numerous verses about prayer and walking. Psalm 143:8 reads like a prayer when it says, “Let me hear of your unfailing love each morning, for I am trusting you. Show me where to walk, for I give myself to you." Walking can be understood in the Bible as not only a physical activity but also a spiritual attitude.
Knowing this, take time to go on your own prayer walk. Begin by noticing God's creation and giving Him thanks for His handiwork. Next, pour your heart out to the Lord and lift the needs of others up as well. Finally, ask God to show you anything that you might be missing. Maybe it's a command to obey, something to surrender, or a promise to claim.
Additionally, you can go on walks with others for fellowship, which can also be seen
as "walking with God." During these times, encouragement and support can be shared.
Have a great walk with the Lord!
"Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually!" -- First Chronicles 16:11
