Lord Direct Our Path

Lord Direct Our Path | July 28th
A scroll through social media feeds and web searches will show that there is no shortage of so-called life-changing guides. People are offering financial plans, physical training programs, and family protocols with the promise that they will guide them to success. Although there are some genuine practitioners, and it's advisable to listen to wise counsel, many of these self-help pledges are nothing more than false hope and a way to make a quick buck.
Thankfully, Scripture offers wisdom that you can both trust and apply. One of these pieces of understanding comes from Proverbs 3:5-8 which says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. 7 Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. 8 This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones." You may need some direction for a decision or a dilemma. Whether that moment is current or coming, you should develop the discipline of praying for the Lord to direct your path. You must also include the command to "not lean on your own understanding."
This plan of action essentially means that God shouldn't be plan B or C. We must surrender our agenda and trust Him to make our way straight. The comforting thought about this prayer is that by asking for God's guidance, you ensure His will and His path for you are the best ones!
Psalm 16:11 says, "You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand."
Psalm 17:5, "My steps have held to your paths; my feet have not stumbled."
Psalm 25:4, "Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths."
May God direct and lead you to the paths He approves today and each day as you seek Him.
