Nothing Is Impossible With God

Nothing Is Impossible With God | December 21st

A young boy traveling by airplane to visit his grandparents sat beside a man who happened to be a seminary professor. The boy was reading a Sunday school take-home paper, and the professor thought he would have fun with the lad. "Young man," said the professor, "if you can tell me something God can do, I will give you a big, shiny apple." The boy thought for a moment and replied, "Mister, if you can tell me something God can't do, I'll give you a whole barrel of apples!"

Except for participating in evil or being unjust, nothing is impossible for God. Christmas serves as a reminder of this vital truth. When the angel Gabriel informed Mary that she would conceive, carry, and give birth to the Messiah, she had some understandable questions. In addition to addressing Mary's concerns, Gabriel used the miraculous pregnancy of her older cousin Elizabeth as tangible evidence and encouragement, demonstrating God's ability to accomplish the impossible.

Luke 1:36-37 says, "And consider your relative Elizabeth—even she has conceived a son in her old age, and this is the sixth month for her who was called childless. 37 For nothing will be impossible with God.”
Like Mary, maybe you could use some encouragement today. You might be overwhelmed by your circumstances. Perhaps you're carrying a heavy burden. Whatever the reason, respond with trust, knowing God can do something inconceivable and incredible because He's the God of the impossible. Gabriel provided a template for how we are to trust God. He pointed to something extraordinary God had already done.

Allowing Elizabeth to be with a child in her old age was undoubtedly unconventional and went against human logic. However, God created Elizabeth and her womb, and He alone has the power to bring forth human life. Therefore, if He intervenes and defies the natural laws He established, so be it!
There have undoubtedly been times when God made a way for you, even when it seemed impossible. To navigate through your darkest hours, it's essential to focus on the blessings you've received and the deliverance God has provided in the past.

Remember, the enemy wants you to give up, and the forces of evil do not want you to trust God for the impossible. Instead, the devil wants you to concentrate on your problems rather than your provider. Don't fall for that! Trust God for the impossible and wait for Him to act.
