TEAM = Together Everyone Accomplishes More! | September 3rd
As Baseball heads into its final five weeks of the regular season and football starts a new season, the concept of "team first" belongs to winners only. Even if you are not a sports fan, you know that to be successful, any group you are in must operate as a unit, or failure is inevitable. See, a family can be a team, a bunch of good friends can be a team, a faculty can be a team, an office of employees can be a team, laborers can be a team, and parents united to protect the innocence of children can be a team. However, the strength of your team depends on knowing that "TEAM" stands for Together Everyone Accomplishes More!
Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 says, "Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. 10 If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble."
As Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 clarifies, the team benefits when they look out for each other. On the other hand, the team suffers when they are not in unison. Whenever a team becomes about personal agendas, they separate into a bunch of self-seeking individuals. We should avoid this mentality like the plague. Therefore, thinking about others and their development improves everyone on the team. Egos are kept in check, and the goals of advancement and achievement are prioritized.
Knowing this, take time to evaluate your teams. Start with your family and continue through your other relational connections. Ask yourself, how can I add value to these people? What can I do to be a blessing to my team? Usually, you can start by maintaining a healthy and winning attitude. Next, prayerfully seek how you might help those go further in their journey. The opportunities to serve one another will emerge if you have the perspective that "Together Everyone Accomplishes More!"
