You Have Direct Access To God

A king of a powerful nation was in his throne room, holding a council with his top advisers, generals, nobles, and high ministers of state. Suddenly, there was a bang and a clatter at the throne room door. All eyes turned as the door burst open, and a young boy ran into the room. One of the King's royal guardsmen tried to stop the boy. "Hold there, lad!" he shouted. "Don't you know you're disturbing the king's council?" "He's your king," laughed the boy, "but he's my Daddy!" And the boy bounced into his Father's open arms, the King. Even in the King's court hierarchy, his child always outranks any nobleman, adviser, ambassador, or dignitary.

Whether we realize it or not, God has provided direct access to His throne room. Hebrews 4:16 says, "Let us then approach God's throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need."
Paul also proclaimed to the churches in the region of Ephesus about the truth of our access to God. Ephesians 3:12 says, "In Christ, we have boldness and confident access through faith in him."

Often, we allow our past to limit our prayers and desire to run into our King's arms. We think our heavenly Father will shut us out because our record isn't perfect. On the contrary, that is why we need to seek Him. God alone has the power to break the emotional, mental, relational, physical, and even spiritual chains holding you back. Through His Son Jesus, God the Father has set us free to come to Him. John 8:36 says, "So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed."

Knowing this, let us, with humility, come crashing through the doors into God's presence because we are the King's kids!
