Be Miracle-Minded

Be Miracle-Minded | October 19, 2023
A Christian businessman was purchasing a warehouse sitting on a decent-sized parcel of property. Since he had a sports background, he planned to convert the space into a gym for after-school programs and a community center. However, he needed 1 million dollars to complete the sale. So he just kept praying, but there was no answer from God, or at least it seemed that way. Then, the day before the settlement date, an envelope arrived in the mail. It was a certified check for $1 million. He said, "Lord, why didn't you send this earlier?" God responded and said, "You didn't need it earlier."
If we ask God for great things, we need to be miracle-minded! That means we trust God's timing and choose to think creatively.
There is nothing "inside the box" about God's miracle-making ways. Some Old Testament wonders include God parting the Red Sea for the Israelites. He provided enough olive oil for the widow to pay back her debts. He spared Daniel's friends from the fiery furnace and sent a whale to rescue Jonah.
In the New Testament, we see Jesus performing miracles. For example, He fed 5,000 men plus women and children with a few loaves and fish. He blessed Elizabeth with a child in her old age. He walked on the stormy waters and calmed the raging sea. He used spit and mud in one healing and a pool in another. He had a coin for temple tax in the mouth of a fish. The Bible's list of miracles and their uniqueness is profound and impressive.
See, God is on time with His provisions and highly creative. Two verses will help you to become miracle-minded:
Psalm 77:14 declares, "You are the God of miracles and wonders! You still demonstrate your awesome power." And Matthew 6:11 says, "Give us today our daily bread."
What problems and needs are dominating your thinking? Is anything causing you to worry to the point of being sick? Either way, God wants you to have His peace by being miracle-minded and knowing His provision is never early or late; it is always on time. Don't give up before the miracle!
