We See A Battle, The Lord Sees Our Victory | October 16, 2023
Doesn't life seem like one battle after another these days? Whether it's drama in the home, local crime, national tragedy, or global tensions, our current events can produce much stress. However, there is a time-tested winning strategy you can utilize if you want to rise above your adversities immediately.
Psalm 20:7 explains that plan when it says: "Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God." The author, David, is communicating that as far as he and his people are concerned, they choose to fully trust in God and not their resources, which were elite for their times. Proverbs 21:31 echoes this perspective by declaring: "The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but the victory belongs to the LORD."
Looking at these two verses and others that share their implication, we can apply the following perspective: "We See A Battle, The Lord Sees Our Victory." See, if our trust is in the Lord like these verses say, we acknowledge the battle but also believe He can win the war we are facing.
You might be battling addiction, anxiety, depression, illness, grief, fear, or shame. Trusting God indicates that although the battle is real, the victory that God will provide is certain. Thus, we have a feeling of peace amid our madness and mess. Romans 8:28 says, "We know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose."
Believing this, don't give up in your battle because you will see victory, too, by the grace of God!
