Trust In God Leads To Blessing | September 14, 2023
We've all heard the insults and innuendos concerning a committed person in their faith. Sure, some frauds and fanatics earn criticism, but if someone is faithful and genuine in their dedication to Jesus Christ, those statements are nothing more than ignorance.
See, in the big picture, a believer must seek and strive to trust God because that focus and those actions lead to blessing.
Jeremiah 17:7-8 says, "Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord and has made the Lord his hope and confidence. 8 He is like a tree planted along a riverbank, with its roots reaching deep into the water—a tree not bothered by the heat nor worried by long months of drought. Its leaves stay green, and it goes right on producing all its luscious fruit."
Psalm 125:1 declares, "Those who trust in the Lord are steady as Mount Zion, unmoved by any circumstance."
Romans 10:11 proclaims, "Yes, the Scriptures say, 'Anyone who trusts in him (the Lord) will never be disappointed.' "
Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."
Whether it's an Old Testament verse directed toward Israel or a later promise in the Scriptures, we see that the character of God is trustworthy in that if we are willing to trust Him implicitly, He is ready to bless us instantly. The immediate blessing is peace to press on; provision will follow if needed. Either way, let us stay in faith and leave the need or concern to the Lord.
