God's Grace To You

God’s Grace To You | July 16, 2026

Listening to others talk about the grace of God is certainly encouraging. However, sometimes, perhaps due to our human nature, we can become doubtful or pessimistic about experiencing that same level of blessing in our own lives. We might think, "That measure of covering from God is reserved for elite Christians" or "I have to be lucky to receive God's grace like that." These thoughts, however, couldn't be further from the truth.
God's grace is not a special reward for those who deserve it, as Scripture plainly states in Romans 3:23: "For we all fall short." Nor is receiving God's grace like winning the lottery or hitting a jackpot on a slot machine.

As believers, we experience God's grace in several beautiful ways. First, we encounter Sovereign Grace, which is God allowing the Holy Spirit to draw us to Him. As sinners, we must remember that salvation does not begin simply with choosing a better path. Through His grace, God provides an irresistible leading by the Holy Spirit that ultimately awakens sinners like you and me, enabling us to repent and believe in Christ. This grace leads to God's Saving Grace, which is His unmerited grace and mercy shown to us through the salvation provided by His Son, Jesus Christ, on the cross.

After blessing us with His sovereign and saving grace, God also sends us Sanctifying Grace, helping us grow spiritually. He provides Sustaining Grace, which offers a steadfastness beyond our own capabilities. He gives Surgical Grace to heal our brokenness and pain, which often goes unseen. He provides Serving Grace, which gives us the capacity to serve His purposes and plans with the abilities and talents He has entrusted to us. Lastly, He provides Secure Grace, which is the promise of eternal security.
If you have not yet chosen to follow Christ, the feelings of emptiness or longing you sometimes experience reflect your need for God's grace. Remember that God's grace is available to both you and me.

Read over these verses and meditate on the grace of almighty God.

Ephesians 2:8, "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God."

Titus 2:11, "For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men."

Second Corinthians 12:9, "And He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.'"

Hebrews 4:16, "Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need."
