Put Your Confidence In The Lord

A young boy was heard talking to himself while playing in his backyard, wearing a complete baseball uniform, including a jersey and cap, and holding a ball and bat. "I'm the best hitter in the world," he declared confidently to the crowd. He tossed the ball high into the air and swung with all his might, but missed completely. "Strike One!" he called out. Undeterred, he picked the ball back up and proclaimed once more, "I'm the best hitter in the world!" He threw the ball up again, watched it descend, and swung hard. The bat cut through empty air. "Strike Two!" he announced.
The boy paused thoughtfully, examining his bat and ball with careful attention. He spat on his palms and rubbed them together for a better grip. He adjusted his hat and declared with renewed confidence, "I'm the best hitter in the world!" Once more, he threw the ball skyward and swung with determination. Again, he missed entirely. "Strike Three! Wow!" the boy exclaimed with genuine excitement. "I'm the best pitcher in the world!"
Like this young man, you might find that your confidence fluctuates with changing circumstances. However, relying on this strategy will not lead to lasting results. Instead, place your confidence in God, who is unwavering and eternal. He is capable and faithful to be your refuge and strength. Adopting this mindset will help reduce your fears and strengthen your faith.
Therefore, read and apply the wisdom of  Proverbs 3:24-26, which says, "When you lie down, you will not be afraid; you will lie down, and your sleep will be pleasant. 25 Don’t fear sudden danger or the ruin of the wicked when it comes, 26 for the Lord will be your confidence and will keep your foot from a snare."
