God's Promises Help With Panic

God's Promises Help With Panic | October 28, 2025

Panic affects people in various ways. Some individuals stop eating, while others may overindulge. Some isolate themselves, whereas others seek out trusted friends for support during difficult times. Physical symptoms can include sweating, shaking, itching, or tearing up. Additionally, some people may become irritable, irrational, or indifferent. Panic presents a clear and immediate danger, whether we recognize it or not. Even the "toughest" among us can experience the overwhelming fear of panic attacks. So, how do we respond to this challenge?

A rational and spiritual strategy for combating panic is to hold onto God's promises. At first glance, this may sound like a cliché or a tacky tagline. However, the hope and inspiration that God's promises provide are undeniable.
When panic consumes us, it often feels like there is no light at the end of the tunnel—no answers, no breakthroughs, no change, and no hope. Losing sight of hope can lead to intense emotional distress and a feeling of being overwhelmed. Hope is like our air supply; panic aims to cut off that flow. Thankfully, God's promises help loosen the grip that panic has around our necks.

One of those great promises centers on the power of God that lives inside of us. Romans 8:10-11 says, "And Christ lives within you, so even though your body will die because of sin, the Spirit gives you life because you have been made right with God. 11 The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you."

The mental turmoil of anxiety, stress, temptation, and panic cannot compare to God's promises. Remember that the same power that raised Christ from the dead is alive within you, enabling you to overcome your strongholds and struggles. Therefore, you have every reason to hope and believe that you will conquer panic and any other challenges that may hinder you from pursuing God's purposes.

With this in mind, learn and stand on God's promises for strength and increased hope!

We are praying for you.
