Encouragement Infusion

Encouragement Infusion | June 18, 2026

An infusion is the administration of medication, fluids, or nutrients directly into your bloodstream through a vein. Daily infusions can be divided into two main categories: therapeutic medical treatments (prescribed for specific conditions) and lifestyle, herbal, or holistic beverages.

The National Institute for Health says, "Daily infusions—whether intravenous (IV) vitamins or physician-prescribed medications—provide 100% nutrient absorption by bypassing the digestive tract. This method offers rapid symptom relief, improved hydration, and targeted management for chronic conditions."

The benefits of physician-approved and guided infusions are well documented. However, an infusion that often goes unnoticed is something we all need: encouragement!
In the book of Hebrews, the author employs the familiar metaphor of a race to describe the Christian life. He begins by encouraging his primary audience of Jewish believers to remember the faithful believers who have come before them.

Hebrews 12:1a says, “Therefore, since we also have such a large cloud of witnesses surrounding us..."

The phrase "large cloud" in ancient Greek writing indicated a great gathering of people. However, the idea here is not just limited to size but also to stature. In the previous chapter, where we are directed to look back, there are at least 18 names of dedicated followers who served God faithfully.

Some think that these great men and women of faith are literally looking down on us now, cheering us through the race. Another interpretation is that these witnesses are not seeing us as we run our race. Rather, they are witnesses to us by providing a practical example of faith. They embody the spirit of martyrs, rooted in the ancient Greek word for "witnesses”.
We should take comfort in the fact that God values faithfulness. This means He notices every moment you have dedicated to your work. Even if others, who lack a broader perspective and are not grounded in Scripture, try to undermine your efforts, know that God recognizes your labor. Sometimes the results of our work are visible, and other times they are not. Our responsibility is to avoid taking credit for any success, and we should not feel discouraged if the outcomes are not immediately significant.

Let us be encouraged that God isn't seeking worldly results; He is looking for and using people who remain faithful like that large cloud of witnesses.

My prayer is that God's Word will infuse you with encouragement today!
