You Have A Message To Share

You Have A Message To Share | April 26, 2026

When it comes to sharing the hope we have found in Christ, the obstacle we face is not often unwillingness but rather feelings of inadequacy or uncertainty about exactly what to communicate. As a result, we might stumble over our words or hold back out of fear.
To tackle this common struggle, we need to identify the core message: the Good News that God saves sinners like you and me through the person and work of Jesus Christ. This salvation is given by grace alone, through faith alone, and it leads to a transformed life and the promise of heaven.

After the resurrection and right up until His ascension, Jesus spent time specifically preparing the disciples to share this essential message with clarity and certainty: Luke 24:44-49 records Jesus saying, “ ‘These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything written about me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.’ 45 Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, 46 and said to them, ‘Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and on the third day rise from the dead, 47 and that repentance for the forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem. 48 You are witnesses of these things. 49 And behold, I am sending the promise of my Father upon you. But stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high.’ ”

Notice that Jesus was reminding His disciples of the incredible consistency of God's redemptive plan, which is evident throughout the Bible. Both the Old and New Testaments speak in complete agreement that Jesus is the prophetic Messiah, the Lamb of God, the atoning sacrifice, and the Son of God. Jesus then reiterated the core message surrounding the cross, the resurrection, and the necessity of repentance, which can be found in no other name but His. He concluded this part of the Great Commission by speaking about the promise of the Holy Spirit.

Putting it all together, we can share our faith in Christ with confidence because Jesus is fully who He claims to be. Additionally, we have a clear message to communicate, and we can go forward in the power of the Holy Spirit.
