Nothing Is Impossible With God

Nothing Is Impossible With God | December 20th
A young boy traveling by airplane to visit his grandparents sat beside a seminary professor. The boy was reading a Sunday school take-home paper, and the professor thought he would have some fun with the lad. "Young man," said the professor, "if you can tell me something God can do, I will give you a big, shiny apple." The boy thought for a moment and replied, "Mister, if you can tell me something God can't do, I'll give you a whole barrel of apples!"
Aside from engaging in evil or acting unjustly, nothing is impossible for God. Christmas serves as a reminder of this essential truth. After delivering the message that she would conceive, carry, and give birth to the Messiah, Mary had several understandable questions. In addition to addressing Mary's concerns, Gabriel used Elizabeth's miraculous pregnancy as tangible evidence and encouragement to demonstrate God's ability to accomplish the impossible.
Luke 1:36-37 says, "And consider your relative Elizabeth—even she has conceived a son in her old age, and this is the sixth month for her who was called childless. 37 For nothing will be impossible with God."
Like Mary, maybe you could use some encouragement today. You might be overwhelmed by your circumstances. Perhaps you're carrying a heavy burden. Whatever the reason, respond with trust, knowing God can do something inconceivable and incredible because He's the God of the impossible. Gabriel provided a template for how we are to trust God. He pointed to something extraordinary God had already done. Allowing Elizabeth to be with a child in her old age was undoubtedly unconventional and defied human logic.
However, God created Elizabeth, her womb, and He alone can construct a human life. Therefore, if He wants to interrupt the very laws of the human body, He created, so be it!
No doubt, there were situations in your life when God made a way when there seemed to be no way. To get through your darkest hour, you must focus on the previous blessings of life and the deliverance that God provided. See, the enemy wants you to give up. Hell doesn't want you to trust God for the impossible. Instead, our adversary, the devil, wants you focused on your problem, not your provider. Have none of that nonsense! Trust God for the impossible and wait on Him to act.
