Repentance Or Rejection, Which Will You Choose?

Life comes down to the choice between repentance and rejection. Either you will receive Christ as savior or refuse His offer of forgiveness and eternal life. The two thieves that hung on their crosses next to Jesus illustrate this reality (Luke 23:39-43). One received Christ, and the other rejected Him viciously. As the curtain closes on this world, a picture of this choice between repentance or rejection is front and center. Revelation 18:1-2 says;
"After this I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great authority, and the earth was made bright with his glory. 2 And he called out with a mighty voice, “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great! She has become a dwelling place for demons, a haunt for every unclean spirit, a haunt for every unclean bird, a haunt for every unclean and detestable beast."
"After all this" represents a new vision. Here John is going to convey the impact of God's Tribulation judgments. The focus of this "woe judgment message" is Babylon, the epicenter of the antichrist's rulership. The angel's announcement will be unmistakeable for several reasons. First, the fifth bowl judgment produced worldwide darkness. Thus the bright attire of the angel will shine forth. Secondly, the angel speaks with a mighty voice so that everyone can see him and hear his divine pronouncement.
The angel's message conveyed that destruction was coming because Babylonia housed the demonic forces of the earth and its woeful appetite for sin. We know from our study in Revelation 9:1-11 that demons were set free from the abyss (Revelation 9:1-11.) In Babylon's vicinity, we learn of the release of 200 million formerly bound demons during the blowing of the sixth trumpet (Revelation 9:13-16). Thus, Babylon will meet its demise with the pouring of the final bowl judgments, and the decision between repentance and rejection will hang in the balance.
Where do you stand when it comes to repentance or rejection? Have you accepted Jesus Christ as your savior and Lord? You can do so by acknowledging that you are a sinner, professing your faith in Christ for the forgiveness of those sins, and believing that God raised His Son from the dead.
If you have already trusted Christ, beware of rejecting obedience and faithfulness. God has assignments and plans for you. Therefore, move forward in faith by having daily repentance and trust in God's purposes.
