Serving With The Right Attitude
As you look to the heart of God and to how to conduct yourself, the more you will see the picture of service. In fact, when you’re not connected to the understanding in God’s Word of serving, you will find yourself experiencing frustration. This is why serving is so critical in your life. As you serve it’s also critical to maintain the proper attitude of serving, the attitude of serving as to the Lord and not to people.
If the object of your serving is to be noticed, then you’ll find yourself becoming very discouraged as recognition doesn’t come. Most of the service you do will run unnoticed. In your home as you do the laundry, clean the house, take care of the yard, maintain the house, and complete menial task after menial task; it will be rare that your service gets noticed. In fact, you may even find yourself being criticized for it. This extends to work. You may be living in integrity, working hard, going the extra mile, and having the mentality that you want to honor God while you are on the clock. Even that may go unnoticed. Since seeking recognition leads to frustration, that is part of why it is so important that as you serve, you are serving with the right attitude.
