Blessed Are The Teachable

You’re going to have obstacles in your life. We’ve all had obstacles in our lives, but by God’s grace, you can overcome them. This isn’t to say that all you have to do is hold your Bible tight in your hand, say your prayers, eat your vitamins, and all your problems will go away. Rather, God has given you free will and the ability to make choices.

You have the free will to make right choices; wrong choices; choices that’ll propel you to success; that’ll put you in the hole; that’ll bless your home, family, marriage; and choices that can hurt. The ability to make choices is your greatest blessing, and it’s also your greatest curse.

You will have obstacles in your life, but you don’t have to pay for the same mistake twice, and you don’t have to be mastered by the same obstacle twice. When you are teachable, you can learn from your obstacles and mistakes; and rise above them.

Some people want to know it all; or want to think that they have it all figured out; because of their IQ, wisdom level, bank account, or other abilities. Some people can believe that they know it all, but as coach John Wooden has said; “It’s what you learn after you’ve learned it all that really counts in life.”

We’re going to fall, make mistakes, have drama in our lives, and cause drama in our lives; but we can learn from them. Blessed are the teachable, for they shall overcome obstacles.
