Blessed Are The Durable
God desires to bless you. When we talk about blessing, however, we usually don’t think that blessings go with suffering. We don’t want blessing and suffering to be in the same sentence. That can be difficult to understand or comprehend. But many of your greatest blessings, and your greatest lessons learned in your life come from seasons of heartache, headaches, and hardships.
While the tendency can be to forget God or to try and fix our problems by ourselves, as we look to God you’ll find that blessed are those who still trust in God despite their suffering. Blessed are those who still trust in God despite not having all the answers. Blessed are those who still trust in God when the puzzle pieces are all over the room and you can’t figure out what goes next. Even when you can’t see how it’s all going to work out, God’s blessings come as you endure.
In athletics, the mark of a great player is their durability in being able to overcome obstacles and stay on the field to keep playing. What good is the greatest of players if they can’t stay on the field? In your life, you will have challenges, and like the durability of a great athlete; the mark of a great follower of Christ who is durable in the face of suffering and challenges. Blessed are you when you are durable, for you shall endure the challenges.
