Fighting Off Temptation

We’re going to be tempted in this life. It is a guarantee. But God has given us a weapon to fight temptation with, which is the Sword of the Spirit known as the Bible. For Jedi Knight, their weapon of choice would be a lightsaber; from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Leonardo had his katana, and Raphael has his twin sais. In our battles, our weapon of choice, is the Word of God; but just like any other weapon we need to be trained in how to properly use it in battle. When a Police Officer graduates from the academy they don’t just hand them a gun and say "good luck, and aim with God’s speed.” When it comes to the Bible, we have to have the proper training to fight off temptation with the sword of the Spirit. In the hand to hand combat that is temptation for each of us we win the battle when we know all about and how to use our weapon in combat that is God’s Word.
