Choice Of Rest
Rest is extremely important to your overall health and alertness. Studies show forty percent of Americans are sleep deprived. Many major accidents, including ferry and oil tanker crashes, are caused by sleep deprivation. Losing an hour and a half to two hours of sleep a night during the week can cause your mental awareness to be as low as someone who has been up for 48 hours. For these and many more reasons you need physical rest. Choosing rest physically parallels with choosing rest spiritually as well. You may be physically rested, but spiritually fatigued. When you’re spiritually fatigued, you can find yourself facing bouts with doubts, discouragements, defeat, and despair. Choose to rest in God, and allow Him to recharge your batteries.
