God Gives Good News

There’s a lot of bad news out there. Every time you turn on the news or scroll down your social media feeds, or even when you talk to someone at work it seems everything is one bad report after another. Some even live by a philosophy of hoping for the best but preparing for the worst. It’s like there’s a cycle we go through in life where we’re waiting for the other shoe to drop, waiting for the notice to come from the IRS, waiting for a bill that we didn’t see coming, waiting for something to break on the car or house.

We live in difficult times, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that God has not given us a spirit of fear. In these troubling times of bad news, God gives the Good News. This Good News isn’t that everything is going to work out the way we want it to, it’s not that we’re always going to get what we want. God’s Good News is greater than all of that. We can fear not, because God gives the Good News.
