About Hurry Up And Wait

Sometimes your life can seem like one big waiting room to see God. You’re waiting on God for people to change, waiting on yourself to change, waiting for your circumstances to improve, waiting on answers for problems, waiting on healing from pain, waiting on breakthrough, and most commonly, waiting for peace to move forward on a decision.

Being that all of these areas require your dependence on God, it’s safe to assume that a majority of your life will be spent waiting on Him.

Therefore, it is important to know the principles for waiting on God, which, of course, include faith. Applying the Bible’s teaching on faith means that we “Hurry up” with our trust and obedience. We don’t want to delay in either of those important areas.

However, as we hurry up, it doesn't guarantee that the answers or provisions are going to come immediately. In fact, as you speed up your position of obedience you might find yourself waiting longer than expected for God.

Now, this doesn't mean God has forgotten you, or that your obedience to His will is in vain, rather, God has perfect timing and perfect purposes for your life. King David of the Old Testament learned this lesson during his trials and waiting period. He wrote this in Psalm 40:1-2:

“I waited patiently for the Lord, And He inclined to me And heard my cry. 2 He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, Out of the miry clay, And set my feet upon a rock, And established my steps.”
