It’s that Most Wonderful Time of the Year again! During the Christmas season, Crossroads Church receives a special Christmas Offering. This Cliff Kean Christmas Offering begins in November and runs straight through the New Year.
Mr. Cliff was the very first elder selected at our church. Both he and his wife, Adrienne, were great examples of generosity; and so it is fitting that we name our Christmas Offering in his honor. The Cliff Kean Christmas Offering is a time to set aside an offering, over & above your regular giving, that will assist in building up our benevolence fund, offsetting the cost of Gift Wrapping, and other needs in serving our community
The goal each year is to raise $25,000. Will you begin praying now about what God would have you give?
As the name of the offering implies, a primary focus of this offering is to touch many more people on Staten Island through our Christmas & other community outreaches. Our ultimate goal is to reach each person on the Island with the love of Jesus Christ. Think about the potential of impacting each person that lives in Staten Island with the Gospel. Wow!
With this special offering, we will be able to strengthen our Community Outreaches; our Benevolence Fund for those in need; and the Building Fund, for the future purchase of our current building. At Crossroads Church we want to give the people of Staten Island the best opportunity to become fully developing followers of Jesus.
With this special offering, we have the opportunity to deepen our impact on the Island and strengthen our ministry to our church family.
The best time to give is on Sundays during November and December. You can continue to give until January 31. Our advice is to pray about an amount and then plan out over the next few weeks and months how you would like to give that gift. If you give in person, please mark, “Christmas Offering” on the regular offering envelopes; or include a note designating that your gift is for the special offering.
Since the beginning of Crossroads in 2002, we have been a church that has dared to dream big dreams for God.
The ministries supported by this offering are BIG. Big Dreams require big faith and big funding. This year let’s give sacrificially so that God will be known on Staten Island!
The regular offering that we give is the proportional amount that we set apart and give throughout the year. From time to time there are opportunities to give in a sacrificial way. This special offering is one of those sacrificial occasions that stretch us to grow in our faith. The special offering should be over and above what you regularly give.
All gifts to Crossroads Church, whether via the regular offering or this Special Offering, are completely tax-deductible. Please be sure to include your name and address when you give so that a receipt can be sent to you for your tax preparations. You are not required to utilize a tax-deduction for your gift, but it is available for all gifts. Gifts must be made on or before December 31 to be included in the current year’s tax-deduction statement
Please prayerfully consider a sacrificial gift that will stretch your faith.
Since the goal is $25,000, this special offering needs to involve everyone. The precise amount you give is between you and God. Some in our church can give a $1,000 or even a $5,000 gift. Others will be able to give between $10 and $500. The issue is not equal giving, but equal sacrifice from the giver.
